Take extra care if you have diabetes
Did you know that if you have diabetes, you’re at risk for gum disease? It’s true. Diabetes affects more than just your blood sugar, including your dental health.
That’s why PayPal’s dental plan covers an additional dental cleaning per calendar year if you’re diabetic. Pay attention to warning signs, such as:
- Red, tender, or swollen gums
- Bleeding gums
- Gums that separate from surrounding teeth
- Chronic bad breath or bad taste in your mouth
- Teeth that are loose or separating from each other
Keep your body and your teeth healthy by brushing and flossing every day and visiting your dentist regularly (up to three times per year). Keeping your blood sugar in check and quitting smoking are two other ways you can decrease your risk of oral health problems.
