What you need to know
If you enrolled in the Childcare Vouchers scheme before 4 October 2018, you may continue to benefit from the programme, as long as you continue to meet the eligibility requirements. The programme helps working parents save up to £933 per year, per parent, on the cost of childcare for children under the age of 16.
The government closed the Childcare Vouchers scheme to new participants, effective 4 October 2018. This means if you’re a parent looking to join Childcare Vouchers for the first time, the option is no longer available. Instead, you may apply for the UK Government’s Tax-Free Childcare programme.
About the programme
If you’re participating in the Childcare Vouchers scheme, you’ve agreed to reduce your salary by a set amount and receive that amount in Childcare Vouchers. These vouchers can be used to purchase registered or approved childcare services of your choice.
While PayPal’s Childcare Vouchers programme is no longer available to new participants, the programme continues to operate through Edenred for previously enrolled members, as long as:
- Your children meet the age eligibility requirements
- You remain employed by PayPal
- You’ve had a wage adjustment and received vouchers within any 12-month period
For more information, go to Edenred’s programme page.
