The Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) is a compulsory saving scheme, or pension fund, that provides financial security for the residents of Hong Kong during their retirement years.
How the plan works
PayPal complies with statutory requirements regarding contribution to the MPF. Both PayPal and you contribute to the MPF:
PayPal’s contribution: 5% of pensionable earnings, subject to the minimum and maximum relevant income levels
Your contribution: 5% of pensionable earnings, subject to the minimum and maximum relevant income levels
Your pensionable earnings is your cash income, which includes your salary, commission, bonuses, and allowances, up to HKD 25,000 per month.
