You’re immediately eligible for the plan upon your hire date.
Eligibility
Medical and dental insurance are available to all permanent PayPal Hong Kong employees upon date of hire. The plan also covers your eligible dependents:
- Spouse age 65 and younger who is not divorced or legally separated from you
- Children 14 days old (and not in hospital confinement) to 22 years old who are single, unemployed, and a full-time student
This benefit is 100% company-paid.

Major medical pays a percentage of the cost of care that exceeds the limit covered by the hospitalization and surgical expenses benefit. Outpatient facility services (as a result of a disability) are provided from the hospitalization and surgical expense benefits.

Make an appointment for care with the provider. Present your privilege care card and Hong Kong ID card along with your copayment, if any, at your appointment. You do not need to submit any claims for care.
Dental benefit
- Cover includes: oral examination, X-ray, amalgam/composite fillings, simple extraction, drainage of abscesses, and drug therapy
- Benefit amount: claim up to HKD 4,500 per year
Maternity reimbursement
Maternity reimbursement is provided to cover expenses incurred during maternity not covered by the health plan.
Eligible amount of reimbursement
This benefit reimburses you 100% for:
- Normal delivery: up to HKD 25,000
- Cesarean section: up to HKD 37,500
- Miscarriage or therapeutic abortion: up to HKD 12,500
Cover includes:
- Room and board, general nursing, and therapeutic services
- Attending doctor services
- Prenatal and postnatal care for the same pregnancy
- Maternity confinement requiring surgical cutting of the abdomen for extra uterine pregnancies
