PayPal provides you with life and accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) insurance at no cost to you. And you’re automatically enrolled in them.
Employees are eligible for benefits effective their date of hire (for employees working 20 or more hours per week).

Employee basic life insurance
PayPal pays 100% of the cost.
Employee basic life insurance: 2x your annual base earnings, up to Can$500,000
Maximum coverage without evidence of insurability: Can$500,000
Spousal life insurance: Can$10,000
Child life insurance: Can$5,000
Optional employee and spouse life insurance
You pay 100% of the cost.
Optional employee-only life: units of Can$10,000, to a maximum of Can$500,000
Optional spouse life: units of Can$10,000, to a maximum of Can$500,000
Accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) insurance
PayPal pays 100% of the cost.
Employee basic AD&D: 2x annual base earnings, up to Can$500,000
Optional AD&D
You pay 100% of the cost.
- Employee coverage: units of Can$10,000 to a maximum of Can$250,000
- Spousal coverage: 50% of the employee AD&D coverage if you do not have children, or 40% of your AD&D coverage, if you have children
- Child(ren) coverage: 10% of your AD&D coverage if you do not have a spouse, or 5% of your AD&D coverage if you have a spouse
