Taking time off — away from your job — is vital to being at your best. We support this by offering ample time off for all kinds of situations.
Paid Time Off (PTO)
- You receive 25 days (200 hours) of PTO per calendar year, which is earned at the rate of 16.67 hours at the beginning of each month
- You are encouraged to avail time off to rest and recharge and spend time with your loved ones
Sick Time Off Policy
All regular employees are eligible for 7 working days of Sick Time Off each year. Sick Time Off is to be used when you're ill and is not to be used to care for a sick family member.
You accrue Sick Time Off at the beginning of the calendar year with accrual starting over at the beginning of each year. Unused Sick Time Off is not carried over to the following year, and you cannot cash it out. If you're a new hire, your balance is prorated based on your start month.
You may use Sick Time Off for half a day as well, if needed. Apply for Sick Time Off through Workday (page accessible within the PayPal firewall).
Bereavement leave
Receive up to 20 days paid bereavement leave for the death of a family member, depending on the relationship.
Marriage leave
Employees receive 5 days of paid leave for their wedding.
Parental leave
Maternity leave
Expectant mothers are eligible for 26 weeks of paid maternity leave.
Paternity leave
As a new father, you can receive 2 weeks of paid paternity leave to be with your family. Take within 6 months of the birth or adoption of a child 12 years old or younger.
Extended paternity leave policy
You may receive an extended paternity leave of up to 1 calendar week for the hospitalisation of mother or newborn due to pregnancy or delivery complexities.
This includes situations such as premature delivery, miscarriage, or any other severe medical condition that arises from the pregnancy and requires hospitalisation.
You are eligible for this leave only after using paternity leave. Similar to paternity leave, extended paternity leave can be used all at once and within a 30-day window from your paternity leave end date. Apply for extended paternity leave through Workday (page accessible within the PayPal firewall).
Adoption leave
Female employees who legally adopt a child who is 12 years old or younger qualify for up to 16 weeks of paid leave.
